My car always vibrates and shakes when its speed goes above 80kmh. Is it a danger to continue driving

Question: My car always vibrates and shakes when its speed goes above 80kmh. I have changed my tyres and checked the wheel alignment but the problem persists. Is it dangerous if I continue driving? This only occurs to the front tyres.

Based on your description, the problem is most likely due to the wheels not rotating evenly and hence begin to vibrate at a certain speed.

This vibration causes certain suspension components to also vibrate which then causes the entire vehicle to vibrate. There are two likely causes of a wheel to rotate unevenly.

These are:

a) Wheel is "Out Of Balance" or;

b) The tyre or rim could be what's called "Out Of Round".

Have it checked by tyre shops and perform an on wheel balancing.

When I go faster than 75kmh, my four-year-old car starts to shake. Even the backseat passengers can feel it. A friend told me that it could be because of the engine mounting or pulley wheels. What is the likely fault?
