What are the symptoms of bad engine mounts?
Engine mounts keep a vehicle's engine anchored securely inside the engine compartment.
Bad engine mounts, especially broken engine mounts, allow a vehicle's engine to move or shake excessively. This causes excessive engine vibration, which often gets transmitted to the passenger cabin.
Broken mounts can also cause loud engine noise as a result of the engine block pounding or bumping against the vehicle's frame.
Bad engine mounts can damage an engine's belts and hoses. Too much engine movement or tilting can cause fan belts and/or radiator hoses to be damaged or broken, especially under heavy acceleration.
So, if you detect increased noise and vibration, have your car checked.
