[top: Delivery motorcycles from Canadian Pizza parked on pavements and walking paths at one of the flats.]
I AM visually-impaired and live in a flat at Upper Boon Keng Road.
I am writing about the difficulties posed by motorcycles and other vehicles parked on pavements.
I walked into an illegally-parked vehicle recently.
Being visually-impaired, I go by my usual routes, but unreasonable vehicle owners create obstructions and hazards by parking their vehicles there.
Even without such obstructions, I have to navigate my route with care.
It may not pose much of a hindrance to those who can see, but it is unfair to the visually-handicapped.
The pavements are for both the sighted and the visually-handicapped to use.
But I find that cars and even lorries are taking up space on pavements and walkways.
I wish the relevant authorities can do something about this.
Harsher penalties should be meted out.
Do spare a thought for the visually-handicapped.
