Besides telling people that you're super wealthy or possess sophisticated taste, your selection of wheels displays more than just financial or social status alone - it also shows whether you're educated and computer literate.
A report compiled by Forbes in the US shows data released by a market research study which details the type of buyers of specific car models or brands.
Education level and being computer savvy are just a couple of things your car says about you. Besides these, the New Vehicle Experience Study by Strategic Vision showed that the car you own also reveals your age, gender, income level and marital status.
The humble Toyota would most probably mean you're married and have a college degree, whereas a Honda usually says you're more pragmatic, well-educated and Internet savvy.
Not many Chevy and Ford owners have a college degree and a handful of Chevy owners don't use the Web.
When it comes to flashy cars, the Lexus exudes wealth and education, and the Mini Cooper is generally owned by people who are not only wealthy but also brand enthusiasts or design aficionados. However, the Minis appeal to several type of people and are hard to pin down. They're either brand enthusiasts who relish the car's British racing roots, social butterflies who want to be part of the Mini community, or gas misers, who crave the Mini's fuel efficiency.
Take a look at what these car models or brands say about their owners. Bear in mind that this is a study conducted in the US and does not fully represent the demographics in Asia.
