Limited edition D-Max Hi-Def 2012 unveiled

KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu Malaysia's limited series of the D-Max pick-up truck is back with the 2012 D-Max Hi-Def edition sporting host of luxurious fittings and a production run of 210 units.

Based on the popular 3.0-litre 4X4 D-Max variant, the new Hi-Def will be available with a choice of either automatic or manual transmissions and in a special Platinum Brown Mica paintwork or Mercury Silver Metallic that gives the vehicle an added element of class and luxury.

The wheels get titanium finish while the radiator and under grilles feature a lattice design finished in chrome.

There is a new bumper guard and chrome body stripe to give the new Hi-Def a more distinctive outlook.

Inside, seats are upholstered in brown Italian leather and stitched with Hi-Def logos while carpet mats are exclusive to the limited edition.

Its integrated multimedia player supports iPod, Bluetooth, MP3, MP4 and movies via DVD, USB or auxiliary cable connections besides offering satellite navigation and reverse camera features.

At the rear, a chrome lamp guard accentuates the newly designed 'D-Box' with a rugged look and an unique lid that allows cargo to be safely locked away.

The lid can be removed altogether to haul larger items.

Customers can also opt for an anodized aluminium roll bar in place of the 'D-Box'.

In keeping with its distinctive outlook, there are exclusive Hi-Def decals on the sides of the vehicle and on the tailgate while the door visors have their own Hi-Def logos.

Other touches include the Isuzu sill logo that lights up in a pleasant blue LED glow.

Isuzu Malaysia chief executive officer Kimitoshi Kurokawa said the D-Max has been known for its fuel efficiency, toughness and dependability under all driving conditions.

"This limited edition Hi-Def takes nothing away from its strengths and instead adds the elements of luxury and distinctiveness to this popular vehicle," he said at the launch.

On-the-road without insurance prices start from RM96,498 in the Peninsular, RM97,680 in Sabah and RM97,911 in Sarawak.
