Most traffic interruptions are for short periods of time. Listing of affected roads/lanes inside.

[picture caption: Fleet of BMW 5-series and 7-series parked at an army camp for shuttling APEC leaders.] The APEC Leaders' Week meetings will take place from Nov 8- 15, 2009. In order to minimise traffic interruptions during the APEC, an APEC lane will be implemented to facilitate traffic movement. The extreme right lane of affected roads will be closed to the public prior to and during the movement of APEEC vehicles. It will be demarcated by cones and water barriers. However, certain roads will still be affected by the meeting proceedings (see tables below). With the exception of Temasek Boulevard (from Fountain of Wealth to Raffles Boulevard), most of the closures are either lane closures or temporary road closures for short periods of time. The latest updates on road and lane closures will be broadcast on the radio and Internet. EMAS and advisory signs will be put up on affected roads to inform motorists of the closures. Motorists are also advised to plan for a longer time for their journeys. Auxiliary police and traffic police officers will be stationed at the affected roads and junctions. Any vehicles found parked indiscriminately will be towed away. Public access to Suntec/Marina Bay area The Esplanade will be closed to the public on Nov 14. Other than that, all other shopping malls and restaurants in the Esplanade and Suntec/Marina area will remain open during the APEC meeting. There will be no access to the Convention Centre of Suntec Singapore but the public can still access the Suntec shopping mall and other shopping facilities in the vicinity via existing walkways. The Blue Zone car parks at Suntec Singapore will be closed to the public - all others will remain open. Taxi stands are also affected. The Suntec Singapore taxi stand along Raffles Boulevard will be closed from Nov 8-15 and the Esplanade taxi stand will be closed on Nov 14. Alternative taxi stands are at Suntec Towers 1 and 2, Marina Square and Raffles City. Public bus services Public bus services to the Marina Bay area will remain in operation but some bus route diversions are to be expected. Detailed information on affected signs and bus stops will be provided on signs placed at affected bus stops. The public may also visit the following websites www.sbstransit.com.sg and www.smrt.com.sg for the latest information on bus route diversions. For general queries, members of the public may contact the APEC hotline at 6557-6703 or visit the website at www.apec2009.sg. For traffic-related queries, the public may contact the Land Transport Authority (LTA) at 1800-2255-582 for assistance. Information flyers detailing traffic arrangements and public access information for APEC are also available at the APEC website, and at shopping malls and hotels in the Suntec/Marina and Orchard areas, as well as petrol stations Esplanade and Marina Bay area
