HOW can one prevent the car engine from overworking?
AVOID carrying passengers or loads that exceed the weight specified in your car owner's manual. Always ensure that your car's cooling system is in good working condition and that the coolant is not contaminated.
Also, avoid unnecessary and frequent braking. Unnecessary braking means you will have to increase the engine's revs more often to get the car up to speed again.
It is also a good practice to switch off the engine instead of letting it idle while waiting for someone or in a long queue at the lights.
And avoid 'jackrabbit' or rough starts - accelerate briskly but smoothly.
