MAGNY-COURS, France, June 22 (Reuters) - Team by team analysis of Sunday's French Formula One Grand Prix (listed in championship order):
FERRARI (Felipe Massa 1, Kimi Raikkonen 2)
Massa took his third win of the season, eighth of his career and became the first Brazilian to lead the championship since the late Ayrton Senna in 1993. Raikkonen led from pole but a broken exhaust slowed him from the halfway point. He still set the fastest lap. It was Ferrari's third one-two of the season.
BMW SAUBER (Robert Kubica 5, Nick Heidfeld 13)
Kubica lost the overall championship lead with BMW struggling from the first day. Heidfeld lost two positions at the start.
MCLAREN (Heikki Kovalainen 4, Lewis Hamilton 10)
Both drivers were penalised on the starting grid, Hamilton by 10 places and Kovalainen five. Hamilton then picked up a drive-through penalty for missing the apex of turn seven while overtaking in what he felt was a harsh call. Hamilton slides to fourth overall, 10 points adrift of Massa. Kovalainen battled Trulli for third in the closing laps.
RED BULL (Mark Webber 6, David Coulthard 9)
Webber's three points were enough to keep Red Bull ahead of Toyota by a single point. It was Webber's sixth scoring race in eight starts. Coulthard lost three places at the start.
TOYOTA (Jarno Trulli 3, Timo Glock 11)
Trulli took Toyota's first podium since 2006 and his first since 2005. The team dedicated that to Ove Andersson, their first boss who was killed in a car crash last week. Glock started eighth but struggled with understeer.
WILLIAMS (Kazuki Nakajima 15, Nico Rosberg 16)
A miserable day for the former champions, with Rosberg starting 19th after a 10 place penalty incurred in Canada. Nakajima started where he finished.
RENAULT (Nelson Piquet 7, Fernando Alonso 8)
Piquet scored his first points in Formula One, at the eighth attempt, and passed his team mate into the bargain. Alonso started third but lost ground at the start and the team then altered his strategy without success.
HONDA (Rubens Barrichello 14, Jenson Button retired)
Barrichello started at the back after a gearbox change. Button collided with Bourdais at the first corner and then lost the front wing three laps later. He retired after 16 laps, the only non-finisher of the race.
TORO ROSSO (Sebastian Vettel 12, Sebastien Bourdais 17)
Vettel started and finished 12th, beating BMW?s Heidfeld. Bourdais made his home race debut but hit Button and lost time behind Nakajima.
FORCE INDIA (Giancarlo Fisichella 18, Adrian Sutil 19)
A frustrating race for both drivers.
SUPER AGURI have withdrawn from the championship.
