BEIJING - A BUS collided with a tanker truck and another bus on an expressway in southern China on Monday, killing 10 people and injuring about 50, Xinhua news agency said.

The bus was en route from Shenzhen in Guangdong province neighbouring Hong Kong to Nanning in the Guangxi autonomous region when the accident happened after midnight in the coastal city of Zhanjiang.

The bus ran into the back of the tanker truck 'then veered across the median of the expressway and crashed into an oncoming bus", Xinhua said.

China's roads are the deadliest in the world, with accidents killing about 100,000 people a year. -- REUTERS
