He is neither a celebrity nor a star.

Yet, he is wanted for pictures an average of 20 times a day.

And smiling for the cameras is not part of his job scope.

Meet 57-year-old cab driver Abdul Rahman Ibrahim.

Passengers who hop aboard his cab are enthralled by its patriotic decorations.

His cab carries the Singapore flag, or rather flags' 43 to be exact' representing the nation's 43rd birthday this year.

A proud Singaporean, the father of three said: "There is only one cab in Singapore that looks like this. No other cab even comes close to looking like mine."

According to him, his experiences with passengers don't just end at photo-taking.

In one incident last month, two passengers at a taxi stand engaged in a heated argument for close to three minutes just so that they could get into his taxi.

He added: "I had to tell them not to argue. "It was funny because, in the end, a third passenger got into my cab."

Spending close to $350 on the miniature flags and car decals, Mr Abdul Rahman, who has been with ComfortDelGro for almost 11 years, has been decorating his cab since 2006.

For last year's National Day, he put up Singapore-related car decals like one that screamed,'I Love Singapore'.

Mr Abdul Rahman, who will be celebrating National Day together with his family over a simple meal at a restaurant, added:

"Because of the flags, some passengers have told me that when they are in my cab, they feel like a president."
