  • Do not force open the door as the train is 1.2m above the ground and passengers may hurt themselves if they fall out.
  • Although the train may feel stuffy, there is backup power to keep the ventilation and emergency lights going for 45 minutes.
  • The air-conditioning will be switched off, but air will still be circulated.
  • Do not step out onto the tracks unless instructed by SMRT staff in an evacuation as the power rail may still be on and passengers risk being electrocuted.
  • Do leave congested areas and stations by making alternative transport arrangements or taking the free bus bridging service provided.
  • Do remain calm and wait for instructions.
  • Do your best to help other passengers in need.
  • Do press the Passenger Emergency Communications button to talk to the train officer.
